![]() ![]() I went to all the trouble because the guitar has fantastic bones – I love the neck – is extremely light and comfortable and played great with just a basic set-up (no dead spots anywhere). OK, sounds like a lot of work and money but it actually wasn't. The final touch was 330-izing it aesthetically (I liked better the black pick guard and knobs on cherry). They sent me (at my request and entirely free of charge) a set of black-covered, mellower ones (≈9kΩ) and when I had them installed I threw in a better wiring harness for good measure. ![]() So I contacted Epiphone and customer service was just great. So I measured the pickups (advertised as more "classic" on the newer Casions) and they were as hot as the older ones (≈12kΩ). ![]() I upgraded the bridge (rattle), had to clean up a faulty switch, filed the nut a little, and gave it a good set up. So I got it home and started finding all the little things that did not work. I went to the shop to scratch a 335 fever, tried a standard Made-in-China Casino from 2019 just for kicks and it sounded so much more interesting. The short version is: put some love and work in there, and you'll get an amazing guitar for little money. Hi, you got yours yet? If you're still debating I'll share my experience. ![]()
